The Fish Tacos

The Camaron Tostada

The Ceviche Tostada a must have

I saw the reviews of this place here on yelp, so my wife and I just had to try it. And it was so mindblowingly good we took my mom when she came out.

Now it is in a pretty sketchy looking stip mall with ample parking, but not very nice looking. And the places decor is only so so, but the food, oh the food.

The ceviche tostadas are literally amazing! As are the fish tacos! I mean you would never expect that this place would have such a great high quality of food, but it does! Just amazing! Now the tostada cameron was not as good, as it is just standard shrimp, but the ceviche and fish are just fantastic.

Now I recommend when you get the Ceviche tostada quickly pull the crispy tortilla from under the ceviche, so you have 2 to break up and eat the Ceviche on! That is what I saw other people doing and it is the perfect way or the tortilla underneath will get soggy from all the lime juice!

This place is really a must try. It is that good! The food is just so tasty and clean and delicious that everyone should try it!

The Fish Market, Seafood, San Diego, CA

The Fish Market,

I had found this place online and was excited to try it, as it has decent yelp reviews and is right on the harbor, and right next to the Midway Museum. And we literally ended up there accidently.

We were able to quickly find parking, though could see how it could get hard on weekends, though they do have valet for the restaurant.

The restaurant is huge, and has a higher class place upstairs as well as different bars around.

We got a great seat inside, safe from the heat, but right on windows looking out at the harbor, and able to look at the ships, and watched the 2 parked air craft carriers, a 3rd that went past as well as a destroyer going out to see. GREAT VIEW!

And the service was awesome. They filled drinks constantly and food was delivered quickly.

Now for the food.

Well the New England Clam Chowder was great, possibly the best I have had since the east coast. Very good.

Kelly had crispy fish tacos and quite enjoyed them. I went for Fish and Chips, which is one of my loves (and was not too expensive), but was quite let down. The plate was huge, but the portions were tiny! I got 2 small pieces of fish, and while the panko crust was not bad, the fish was overcooked an stiff as a board and would barely absorb the malt vinegar. The thin fries were OK, but the cole slaw was not to my liking either.

While the service and view were awesome and the chowder, I have to say messing up such a staple as fish and chips does not speak well for me, so I can't recommend this place at all.

Northridge Fish & Chips, Northridge, CA

10336 Reseda Blvd.
Northridge, CA 91326

This certainly should not be on my Low Sodium Diet, but Kelly was sick and wanted Fish & Chips, so I ventured out, after seeing that it had good reviews on Yelp.
Located in a little strip mall on the east side of Reseda just north of Devonshire, this is not a place where you want to eat. It is pretty dingy, and has only a few tables, this place is for takeout.
Owned and operated by an old Asian Couple, they do make amazing Fish and Chips. It has a simple menu including also deep fried shrimp, oysters, clams and calamari, but I was there for the very inexpensive Fish and chips.
The pieces of fish are quite large, and the fish quite tasty. I got a 3 piece and got Kelly a 2 piece and with a bottle of Malt vinegar, it was around $17! Quite a deal! In fact a a 2 piece if under $5! Wow.
I was actually qutie impressed. The fish is big and tasty, and the fries were good without being too salty.
And they make it all to order, nothing is sitting around, so it might take a little while (not too long at most 15 minutes), but if you are close you could call your order in and come in to pick it.
This place was pretty damn tasty, and I will certainly eat it again.

This is easily my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles, and by extension anywhere!

The Seafood is absolutely sublime. Perfect flavor combinations. And the menu seems to change up at least a few times a year to keep it fresh. The service is great, and they have reasonably priced bottles of wine, as well as incredible (if expensive) mixed drinks.

Food ranges in price from $17-$30 and then there are incredible fresh oysters, uni, lobster and other seafood that can be gotten in reasonably priced platters (especially for parties). If you like oysters don't miss out, as they are always delicious here!

My wife and I also love to go to their price fix valentines day dinners with feature incredible fixed menus with a few choices, as well as tasty tidbits from the chef that are always mind-blowingly good.

Honestly this is my go to restaurant for my birthday, because I always want to eat here!

I am born and raised on Marthas Vineyard Island off the coast of Massachusetts and I have to say we get the best swordfish, as it is harpooned, and you get it fresh that day, instead of long-lined where it drowns. Well the hungry cat swordfish I have had blew it out of the water. All the fish is amazing though! They have lobster rolls that are the first I have had to come close to the Vineyard as well!

The Hollywood Location is tiny and hidden on Vine, across from what used to be Borders, and has very few seats, a bar and a raw bar. You park in the structure on the other side that is also for Bed Bath and Beyond.

The Santa Monica location is larger, with a big bar, but even though it is right across from the ocean is pretty enclosed (as it is right on the PCH), though I hear they might be using the upstairs as a dining room as well which should have a good view. Here there is only Valet parking.

The service is always great and very helpful.

For years we heard about the Pug Burger, with blue cheese, bacon and avocados, but never had it because of the amazing seafood, but this year we decided to try it and we were blown away. I can't believe how amazing it was. EASILY THE BEST BURGER I HAVE EVER HAD! Every bite is a flavor explosion! This is an amazing burger! Wow! WOW WOW!!!!!

I can't recommend this restaurant any more. It is my favorite restaurant in the world. You will not be disappointed!

I found this place right down on the peer in Long Beach when looking online because Kelly and I were going down to see the Star Trek Tour at the Queen Mary. It is a large restaurant right at the end of the boardwalk (which seems a plastic fantastic version of Oaks Bluffs on Marthas Vineyard). It is quite large and has indoor and outdoor seating as well as a sushi bar. The service is good, and the food was quite tasty. I would certainly try this place again if I was in Long Beach.

Kelly and I wouldn't even have known this place if we didn't go with Tara and Rick. It is a cool looking place, built in the old 1920's firehouse for the era, with hardwood floors, and craftsman light fixtures, and covered in photos celebrating the old history of Hollywood. Parking is non-existant, so pay for the parking, which is just North of it on Rowena. Their is a cool outside patio with heaters, and a huge bar, which is where the firetruck used to park, and is quite loud. And their is a smoking patio in the back, where the restrooms are. The main entrance is huge, and has a couple of chairs to wait, and check out all the old photos, they are very cool. The food and service was decent, but not great for the price. I have certainly had better, though the atmosphere was nice.

Right in the heart of downtown Burbank, and right by the AMC theaters, Kelly and I have eaten here before and kind of enjoyed it, but this experience I must say was pretty terrible, and I do not think we will be returning. The service was fine, but the food was pretty mediocre, and the breadsticks were tastless and awful, even with the oil at ever table, and even once we got a bottle of balsamic vinegar. I do like that they give you a pitcher of iced tea though. That is nice, but the food was only OK.

On our recent trip back to Annapolis to take care of my father's dogs, my lovely girlfriend Kelly had been fiending for a Ruben, so when doing a little look at main street we saw the sign in the Market House, and decided to try it for lunch the next day. We were both expecting a restaurant, but when we went in we learned that the Market House is a city owned premises where various food places rent and have stands, and the Galway Bay was one of those stands, where you get your food and take it outside to sit at little tables around the building or stand up at bars around the inside in between the food stalls. We were a little put off, but decided to give it a try.

Kelly and I were driving to get some lunch in Burbank today, and decided to try this place, because of the sign about how great the corned beef was, so we decided to try the Reuben's. The Reuben's I must say were pretty tasty, though not quite as good as Victor's. Well worth trying out in Burbank though.

Where my girlfriend wanted to eat was closed, so we kept driving down Riverside and saw this place right next to Baja Fresh, and decided to give it a try. I must say whomever wrote the menu did a fantastic job, because when you read it you will want to try everything. Everything sounds amazing, but the thing it is it is all lies. Especially ones like "WE ARE HOME OF THE GREASELESS PIZZA!" because this is damn greasy pizza, and the crust is just nasty. The food was terrible, and it took quite a long time as well. I was so unimpressed that I will never eat here again and tell anyone not to try this either.
